AirAsia Claims Title As Asia’s Best Low Cost Carrier Five Years In A Row

Malaysian-based carrier, AirAsia has been named Asia’s best low-cost carrier by the World Travel Awards for the fifth year in a row! On top of that, the AirAsia’s in-flight staff also nabbed the Best Low-Cost Airline Cabin Crew for the sixth consecutive year as well.

Other low-cost airlines around the region that were competing for the title included Firefly, Jetstar, Scoot, and Air India Express. The overall result was decided by consumers, travel professionals, and industry players within the region.

“This is a fantastic achievement that we dedicate to our hard working team of Allstars who never let a crisis beat us and continue to put guest satisfaction at the heart of everything we do. Finally there is light at the end of this long tunnel and we look forward to painting the skies red again in all of our key markets with the highest operational and service standards, as travel restrictions continue to ease,” said Bo Lingam, group CEO of AirAsia Aviation.

Earlier this year, the company struggled to process refunds for cancelled flights, causing an uproar with customers. As a result of the pandemic, AirAsia has since expanded into new niches like ride-hailing and food delivery services.
