In conjunction with Kuala Lumpur City FC winning the Malaysia Cup final on 30 November, Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim announced that this Friday (3 December) will be an additional public holiday for people in the Federal Territories!

The historical win against defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) ended KL City FC's 32-year title drought with a 2-0 score. Apparently, the last time KL City FC won the title was back in 1989.

On top of this announcement, PM Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob also declared 3 December as the annual Malaysia Batik Day. He said that the government hoped this announcement would encourage Malaysian citizens including those in the private sector and the multiracial community to wear the iconic Malaysian batik.

“I believe that the declaration of the Malaysia Batik Day can also be the catalyst to strengthen the local batik craft industry and the country’s local batik production chain,” he said.
